Introduction
The AWK-4121 outdoor wireless AP/bridge/client is the ideal outdoor wireless solution for industrial applications that are hard to wire, too expensive to wire, or use mobile equipment that connect to a TCP/IP network. The AWK-4121’s dust-tight/weatherproof design is IP68-rated, allowing you to extend existing wired networks to outdoor locations and critical environments. The two redundant DC power inputs increase the reliability of the power supply and can be powered via PoE (discontinued starting with Rev. 2.0.0) for easier deployment. The AWK-4121 is compliant with the industrial standards and approvals, covering operating temperature, power input voltage, surge, ESD and vibration. With many hardened industrial-grade features, the AWK-4121 will provide stable and reliable wireless connectivity, even in harsh outdoor environments.
Features for Critical Environments
- IP68-rated metal housing and -40 to 75°C wide operating temperature
- Anti-vibration M12 design and waterproof/dust-tight RJ45 connectors
- PoE (discontinued starting with Rev. 2.0.0) and dual DC power inputs
Specifications for Industrial-grade Applications
- Long-distance wireless transmission over 10 km
- Integrated DI/DO for on-site monitoring and warnings
- Status LED indicators for on-site monitoring and diagnosis
White Paper:
Expert Tips for Optimizing Industrial Wireless Networks
Compared with its popularity in everyday commercial environments, Wi-Fi has been slow to gain a foothold in industrial M2M applications. One of the main reasons that industrial customers are reluctant to move from wired to wireless is the problems associated with stability. Wireless transmission is NOT as reliable as wired transmission. However, by following certain best practices it is possible to set up a wireless network that will provide the level of reliability needed for M2M communication applications. In this whitepaper, we present eight expert tips that you can follow to optimize your wireless networks for industrial application environments...more
